Don Foote Contracting is a full-service residential Design/Build contracting business specializing in high-end remodeling, custom cabinetry, construction management and fine carpentry. Our years in the service industry have led us to understand that our clients want some very simple and basic things from their general contractor:
- They want high quality work done in their home.
- They want to be inconvenienced as little as possible.
- They want us to understand that we are working in their home, and to be respectful of that.
- They want to know what it will cost before they start, and if that price changes, they want a clear and detailed explanation.
Ultimately, clients want to know that someone is looking out for them, helping them make the decisions that will ensure a beautiful home, coupled with timely completion.
Some major areas define our unified approach to working together.
Customer Service
We strive to provide our clients with prompt attention to detail. Communication and scheduling between suppliers, installers, sub-contractors and our clients are handled with our detail coordinator and on site supervisor. The decisions a homeowner needs to make can become overwhelming, even on small jobs. We help organize and facilitate the decision making process by providing our clients with room-by-room detail templates in spreadsheet form, listing every decision, from paint to doorstops to floor finish-everything. The detail coordinator is available to arrange appointments with suppliers, answer questions, and provide a sounding board to help with this process.
A positive client to company relationship is of paramount importance. We work very hard to make this the norm.
Scheduling
Our clients are given a detailed week-by-week chain of events schedule, from demolition to finish painting and clean-up. A clearly written schedule is the first step in actually getting the job done on time, as it provides everyone involved with a benchmark. Effective scheduling enables us to work in a fast track mode all the time, enabling project completion most of the time. Our selected subcontractors are all emailed the job schedule, and know in advance when they are expected to complete their work. What never happens on our jobs is the “three week wait for the plumber to show up.” Subcontractors are selected for the quality of their work, competitiveness of their pricing, and equally as important, their desire and ability to maintain our demanding schedules.
